Page 8, Sorry About The Wait

This page has been sitting around unfinished for a long while, so since I completed a 10 page story for Martian Lit this morning, I thought I'd polish it off and start thumbnailing (is that even a real word?) page 9.

Page seven. Possibly a plot point here.

Page 7. Something still doesn't quite feel right the last few pages. I'm thinking it might just be me though. I'll keep plugging away and see what happens. At least the last 2 pages were done on unlined board so the subliminal drift into getting locked into "the grid" were removed.

Page Six, Pick Up Sticks.

In order to cut back on posting the same stuff over and over all over the interwebs, I built a new website HERE. (I don't have a domain name yet because of money reasons.) It sure was a different process than when I was coding HTML in notepad back in the day! However, there's no real zoom-in function for the images there, so I'll keep posting stuff here so the details can be seen. And in the case of comic pages, dialogue can be read.

Page 5 and doing fine.

I haven't been too happy with the last 2 pages. Page 6 will be better, I'll have to sit and focus and not let the kids distract me so much with their fighting!
One more main character to introduce and then on with the plot, eh?

Evil Dread

Did up a digitally painted cover to the book I've been working on in my spare time (which I've had very little of lately). Still going to be tweaking it, but it'll more or less look like this. I'm going to work on getting the "V" layout working a little better. Anyway, since this is out of my system, I can get back to working on pages.

I think it does a decent job summing up what the book is about though, which is what a good cover should do!

Social Medium

So, I've been experimenting today with tying to drum up work using social media, because hey, why not. I'm broke and have some time. Needless to say I'm, applying for less "glamorous" local jobs,
this is purely fishing for freelancing.

So far there's been a positive response on Twitter but nothing concrete. Which is about the same as the real-word job hunt as well! It tends to surge depending on who retweets.

Company 666 - Page 3

Page 3.
And as always, I reserve the right to continue tweaking things.

Company 666 - page 2

Hand-lettering is tough. But I feel it adds some personality to the pages.
And yeah, I cut across the 180 degree line on purpose. WHAT OF IT?

Sketch-O-Rama

I did a bunch of sketches for fun in my spare time about month or so ago and they've just been sitting around getting beat up, so I thought I might as well just post 'em. Pencil, ink and sometimes Copic on regular old paper.

Edit - I don't read Batman comics anymore and I just came across a recent and similar looking image online. It's possible I saw it before on CBR and it burrowed into my subconscious. Or its just a graphic trope. Oh well. I do like that the moon came out nice in Copic marker.

ENTER GOURMANDO

I did up a mock cover for page 10 of the Nexus Newspaper, which is available now!
www.rudedudeproductions.com/di…

The Dude himself helped me with Nexus' pose. I had originally drawn him blasting with both hands so it was more of a "back" shot. Here he is:

Also, the lettering, "All life..." is straight out of the paper and is by the Dude.

Meanwhile on Ylum...

I made this little video to help promote Steve Rude and Mike Baron's Nexus Newspaper Strip and it's online now!

This is a really cool project, so visit the site and get on board!
